Charcoal Foundry

If you build the gingery lathe, you do not just get a lathe, you get a lathe and a foundry. Odds are, you will find the foundry, and the skill to use it effectively, much more useful than the lathe in the long run. The lathe is nice, but the foundry and the foundry skills are the real prize there. With the foundry skills you can build an unlimited supply of tooling for the lathe. You can also build other machines as you think of them. Even without building the lathe, the foundry will probably pay for itself many times over.
